Every day a photo from Ponte Umberto I in Rome.
The bridge connects the Piazza di Ponte Umberto I to the Piazza dei Tribunali. The Ponte Umberto I was designed by the architect Angelo Vescovali and named after the then King of Italy Umberto I, who personally inaugurated the bridge, together with his wife Margherita di Savoia. Construction was begun in 1885 and the inauguration took place in 1887. The Ponte Umberto has a length of 105m and is 20m wide. Its three arches are covered with travertino marble from Subiaco.

Le pont, inauguré en 1887, est une œuvre de l’architecte Angelo Vescovali. Il était destiné à la desserte du Palais de justice (“Palazzaccio”) et à la liaison du quartier Prati avec le centre-ville sur la rive gauche. Il compte trois arches de maçonnerie pour une longueur de 105 m.
